Ward Priorities

With almost 50,000 residents, Gloucester-Southgate Ward is an incredibly diverse area. From Greenboro to Blossom Park, Emerald Woods to Hunt Club Park and more, as your Councillor I represent a large geographical area. Though Gloucester-Southgate spans a large area, there are a number of priorities that hold true across Ward 10.

Here are some of our priorities:

  • Spending the public’s tax dollars wisely
  • Reducing crime and harassment in our communities to ensure public safety
  • Keeping our streets safe through traffic calming measures
  • Maintaining our key community infrastructure through park and facility re-development
  • Preserving the health of our urban forest and environment
  • Working with our older adult population to ensure dignity and safety for seniors
  • Continuing to improve transit, transportation and cycling options for residents

The City of Ottawa has received a site plan application for a new Hydro Ottawa campus at 3475/3481 Hawthorne Road (fronting onto Hunt Club Road). The 8.53 hectare parcel will see the construction of three buildings; a four-storey administration building, a two-story operations building and a one-story storage building. The new development proposes two accesses onto Hunt Club Road including one full-movement access at a signalized intersection along the southwestern section of the site, and a second right-in, right-out only along the southeastern section of the site. Hydro Ottawa will be presenting their application at the upcoming February 28th Hunt Club Park Community Association meeting and residents are invited to attend
