As you may already be aware, the City of Ottawa’s Planning, Infrastructure and Economic Development Department has received an Official Plan and Zoning By-law Amendment to permit the development of a six-storey residential care facility at the municipal addresses known as 1452, 1460 and 1470 Hunt Club Road, 1525 and 1531 Sieveright Avenue.
The facility would be used to provide temporary accommodation and essential medical services to residents of the Baffin Region of Nunavut, who are unable to access these medical services in their own communities.
I will be organizing a public information meeting in January, 2021 to discuss the proposal in more detail. I will invite the Applicant to present their application to the community, and the lead City Planner handling this file to provide an overview of the planning application process. The presentations will be followed by a question-and-answer period, during which time members of the public will be able to ask questions and voice any concerns directly to the Applicant.
Once a date for the public meeting has been set, I will share this information with the community via community associations, my bi-weekly newsletter, and my office will distribute flyers to the Upper Hunt Club, Solera Circle neighbourhoods.
I have also heard from several residents who are concerned about the deadline to submit comments regarding this application. I would like to assure you that this will not be the only opportunity to voice your perspective on this application.
You can view the application here.
