It is hard to believe that we have reached the end of 2021. It has been another year full of challenges as COVID-19 is still very much part of our daily lives, however, despite the complications caused by the pandemic, our community perseveres.
I am incredibly grateful to all the community groups, associations, and volunteer organizations who have found ways to continue to share information, provide much needed services, and to open their doors to the community. Your contributions have made a huge difference to so many.
With the new Omicron variant on the rise, the New Year may not quite bring the fresh start we were all hoping for. It continues to be important that we all do our part to reduce the risk of transmission of COVID-19 in our community by wearing masks, practicing physical distancing, washing our hands regularly and of course, staying home when sick.
We are not out of the woods yet, but it is important that this holiday season we all take the time to slow down and recharge. We have a lot planned in 2022 and my team and I are hopeful that we will once again be able to come together in-person for meetings, small gatherings, and events!
However you’re celebrating, I wish you a safe, happy, and healthy Christmas and New Year.
