March 11 Notice of Public Meeting: Application for Site Plan Control Proposal for the construction of a new Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa clubhouse at 1770 Heatherington Road

The City of Ottawa’s Planning, Infrastructure and Economic DevelopmentDepartment has received an application for a site plan control proposal for the construction of a Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa youth services facility at the municipal address 1770 Heatherington Road. A zoning bylaw amendment related to this site has also been initiated by the City and was approved by Planning Committee on February 25, 2021.

The new Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa youth services facility will be approximately 1,483 square metres, and will be located on the west side of Heatherington Road, approximately 60m south of the intersection of Walkley Road and Heatherington Road. The Boys and Girls Club will lease a portion of the site from the City, and the remainder of the site is anticipated to be developed for residential uses and a public park. The construction of the new BGCO clubhouse is expected to be funded in partnership with federal funding through the Government of Canada’s Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program (ICIP), approval of which is anticipated in spring 2021.

Both the applicant and City Staff will be presenting this application and the zoning bylaw amendment during a public meeting being held on Thursday, March 11that 6:00 p.m. Please note that this meeting will be held virtually using Zoom.
