Development Application for 3776 – 3780 Albion Road

I was recently informed of a new Zoning and Site Plan Application for the construction of a 3-storey low-rise apartment building with 38 residential units for 3776 – 3780 Albion Road, which is near the corner of Albion Road and Wyldewood Street.

I have heard from many community members on their opposition to this application, and I recently met with the applicant to express in unequivocal terms that I do not support this application. I believe the applicant’s current design is too dense and does not fit in with the neighbourhood. I am also concerned with the potential traffic impacts this new development will have along Albion Road.

As such, I have asked the applicant to reconsider their proposal and to bring forward a new plan that is more appropriate for the proposed location.

As part of this application is a rezoning, a public meeting is required under the Planning Act. Once the applicant has resubmitted a revised plan, I will notify the community of the public meeting date. This meeting will be virtual.

In the meantime, if you would like to provide me with any feedback regarding this proposal, please send an email to Diane.deans@ottawa.ca
