As part of the City of Ottawa’s 2021 budget development process, I will be co-hosting a public consultation session along with Councillors Brockington, Cloutier and Menard. This year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this public consultation will take place virtually. This consultation will feature a presentation on the City’s budget from staff in the Revenue Services department and a Q&A session.
This will provide residents from our central-south wards with the opportunity to share their comments about the 2021 budget, including suggested priorities and potential areas for savings. This meeting will be held via Zoom on Thursday, October 22 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.To register for this public consultation, please contact my office at diane.deans@ottawa.ca, and you will be provided with the Zoom details.
To assist in preparing for this meeting, background information and budget resource materials are available on the City’s website here. Residents can also use the Engage Ottawa feature to provide feedback on City services, ask a question about the City budget and to understand how property tax dollars are spent. This innovative and easy to use tool also allows residents to see how changes in spending would affect their tax bill.
