Tell us what you think about Ottawa’s recreation facilities

Ottawa residents are invited to share their thoughts on municipal recreation facilities. The City of Ottawa is launching a multi-phase study into the future of municipal recreation infrastructure, beginning with four public outreach sessions next week.

  • Monday, June 10, 9:30 am to noon
Nepean Sportsplex Hall C and D
    1701 Woodroffe Avenue
  • Monday, June 10, 6:30 to 9 pm
Ray Friel Recreation Complex, Fallingbrook Room
    1585 Tenth Line Road
  • Tuesday, June 11, 7:15 to 9:45 pm
    McNabb Recreation Centre, Assembly Hall
    180 Percy Street
  • Thursday, June 13, 6:30 to 9 pm
CARDELREC Recreation Complex Goulbourn, Main Hall
    1500 Shea Road

No registration is required for these sessions. If you require accommodations for accessibility purposes please call 3-1-1.

At each session, participants will be asked to comment on what they would like to see included in future designs of recreation facilities in five categories:

  • Ice pads and arenas
  • Pools and aquatics
  • Recreation centres
  • Courts and sports fields
  • Outdoor facilities, such as field houses, beach pavilions and dog parks

The public meetings are the first phase of what will be an ongoing dialogue about the future of recreation facilities. Residents can share their opinions and provide recommendations in an online discussion beginning in July.

The information gathered through the online discussion and the public meetings will be used to inform reports to Council, beginning in fall 2019.
