I have been made aware by the City of Ottawa’s Planning, Infrastructure and Economic Development Department that a report regarding the Claridge Lands at the northwest corner of Conroy Road and Johnston Road is scheduled to be heard by Planning Committee on Thursday, February 14th.
This report is in response to an Official Plan Amendment appeal and recommends that Council approve a change in land use for the property from Employment Area to General Urban Area. Approval of this change will give Claridge the ability to seek zoning, draft plan of subdivision, and site plan approval in the future for uses such as a private recreational facility, open space, and residential on a district energy system. It is important for residents to know that this is the first step in a lengthy process as provisions will be set in place that must be met before any future plans are approved.
I invite you to attend a public information meeting where I have asked the applicant and city staff to present the application and process in detail. Please join me on:
