The City of Ottawa has initiated the Earl Armstrong Road Extension Environmental Assessment (EA) Study to establish the right-of-way requirements for the future extension of Earl Armstrong Road between Albion Road and Hawthorne Road. The EA study will identify the right-of-way requirements for the project, protect the corridor and inform the ongoing planning and development of adjacent lands.
The EA study is being undertaken in accordance with Ontario’s Environmental Assessment Act, fulfilling requirements of a Municipal Class EA process for a Schedule C project. The EA process will involve developing, assessing and evaluating alternatives, leading to a Recommended Plan including a functional design and estimated costs for implementation. There will be ongoing public consultation activities during the course of the study.
This first Open House will be used to provide information, engage in discussion and receive feedback from the public on the following: • Project overview, process and schedule • Project need and justification
• Summary of environmental inventory and existing conditions
• Evaluation of alternative solutions and corridors
• Preliminary preferred solution and corridor.
Your participation in the Open House meetings is an important component of the EA process where you can discuss the project with the study team and provide feedback. Interested persons can provide comments throughout the EA process. Any comments received will be collected under the Environmental Assessment Act and, with the exception of personal information, will become part of the public record
