City to set up information centres in affected areas to assist residents with flood recovery

The City is setting up information and facilitation centres in four locations to assist impacted residents. The centres will open on Wednesday, May 10. City staff will be available to provide information to residents to facilitate recovery efforts and will be able to connect them with the resources and assistance they require.

Locations:

  • Community Hall at the R.J. Kennedy Arena, 1115 Dunning Road (Cumberland)
  • Ron Kolbus Lakeside Centre East Parking Lot, 102 Greenview Avenue (Britannia)
  • Constance and Buckham’s Bay Community Centre, 262 Len Purcell Drive (Woodlawn)
  • Fitzroy Harbour Community Centre, 100 Clifford Campbell Street (Fitzroy Harbour)

The information centres will be open on Wednesday, May 10 from noon to 8 p.m. and on Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The weekend and the following week’s schedule will be provided in the coming days.

City staff will be present at each centre to triage, answer City resource questions, follow up on resident inquiries, or assign to the proper department. Red Cross and the Salvation Army will also be in attendance.

The City will continue to provide updates on Ottawa.ca and Twitter.

Flooding prevention tips, including basement flooding, are available on the City of Ottawa website.
