Travel Smart to Winterlude Activities

Get the most out of Winterlude by spending less time driving and more time having fun.

Winterlude runs every weekend from February 3 to 20 with many activities happening at or near City facilities. Here are some travel tips to help you get the most out of your Winterlude outings.
OLG Sno-Bus

This free service will operate between the various Winterlude sites. Please visit octranspo.com and sto.ca for more information on the OLG Sno-Bus service.

•Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
•Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
•Family Day, Monday February 20, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The service, which is sponsored by Ontario Lottery and Gaming Commission (OLG), will run every 15 minutes. You are not permitted to board the bus wearing skates. While carrying skates on the bus, use skate-guards to avoid injury or carry your skates at your side by their blades.

For more information, visit octranspo.com (link is external) or call 613-741-4390. If you are traveling to or from Gatineau, also check sto.ca (link is external) for the latest updates on service.

Road closures

During Winterlude weekends, Queen Elizabeth Driveway between Laurier Avenue and Preston Street will be closed to traffic, and also Laurier Avenue from Elgin Street to Nicholas Street. These closures will be in effect:

•Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
•Sundays from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
•Family Day, February 20, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Free transit

If you plan on attending Ottawa 67’s games during Winterlude, your 67’s ticket gets you a free OC Transpo ride on regular public transit (link is external) routes from three hours before to three hours after the game.

You can also stay up-to-date on the City’s Winterlude events at ottawa.ca or follow us on Twitter at @ottawacity.
